Former Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has refused to criticise his former club despite his difficult time at Old Trafford.
Despite moving to Girona two months ago, the Dutch midfielder has yet to settle into the new situation and could be as dismal at the Catalan club as he was in England.
Van de Beek enjoyed success at Ajax, being part of the side that reached the Champions League semi-finals in 2019, while his form also led to a £35m move to United that summer.
However, he has struggled to settle at Old Trafford, making just 16 appearances across three seasons, including once last term.
However, when asked about the past, the 27-year-old ยูฟ่าเบท insisted he had nothing negative to say about the Red Devils and said he would take the lessons from the experience into the future.
“I tried to enjoy myself again and I did,” he told ESPN Netherlands.
“Girona is a beautiful club with good football and I think I can help and I am working hard for that.”
“It’s clear that nothing happened between either side (Manchester United), that’s in the past, but there’s not a single negative comment about that club.”
“Of course I didn’t play much, but I learned a lot from the good players around me and the good people at the club. I will take that with me into the future.”
